Hope your week has gone well. I’ve noticed that the fans of Guild Wars 2 are definitely getting a bit restless of a release date or a mention of the next Beta. Even I am getting a bit restless. Looks like they could just give us the next few beta dates. I mean I know they want everything to be perfect. I understand that. But not knowing is driving a lot of folks mad.
The Torchlight 2 beta started a few minutes ago. I’m getting ready to bash some things. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

“- GW2 is still on track for release in the second half of the year (EDIT: They said later that they don’t think the timing will be “too much delayed.” The most narrowed date they’ve given us before now was back with the Q3 call: “latter but not too late part of the year.” So, assuming they’re still referring to that time frame, this probably means they’re still expecting a Q3/early Q4 release, but the early part of Q3 might be ruled out.)
- They have reached their internal goals for sales so far.”
So we still don’t know exactly when it will be released. The second half of the year has a whole lot of months in it. I think they should be careful because the Indians are going to start getting restless to play a game they’ve already payed for. Many people are saying don’t release in the Summer but would it really be a release in the Summer if we paid for it in may. Anyway… hope it comes sooner rather than later.
The Stress Test
They kept really close to the times they outlined. I figured they would let us in a little early. Before I go on I would like to say that I never knew how fast 7 hours could go by.
I wanted to create a Charr warrior this go round. Just to check out the Charr story / early leveling experience and test out the warrior. Things went pretty smoothly for the first few levels, until I needed to do a personal story and my instance wouldn’t work. Tried everything (for over an hour) and still got the instance error (not the 95% one) but the one with the error code. I tried a bit to continue without it but that first instance gives you a bit of starting cash, another bag etc., so it’s pretty important in the leveling process to be able to continue it. I think I got to level 4 or 5. So in frustration I started a human warrior.
This went much smoother as I managed to get to level 7 or so until the instances decided to go Fubar again. I actually did one instance and for whatever reason it didn’t count it so I had to do it again. I played briefly with crafting but needed to head to the bank and couldn’t get back into the home instance… the pesky 95% error. Again tried for a while – gave up and went back to my Ranger who happened to be in Charr land (with about a half hour to go). I had fun for the last half hour or so.
Hopefully all these problems were being caused because it was a stress test. Many times even in an instance I was getting some serious lag. I guess we will see. Hopefully we’ll have another chance to play Guild Wars 2 this month.
Note to self – Ranger needs some inventory cleaned out.
One other thing buying a bag slot IS NOT account wide, it just works for the one character.
